The Giancarlo and Danna Olgiati Collection opens its exhibition season with a themed show titled “Terre”. The exhibition presents a selection of 22 paintings and sculptures dating from the 1920s to present day, revolving around the title Terre and sharing a “material” dimension. It features 14 artists – from different periods and places – who probe the expressive qualities of the medium with extraordinarily varied outcomes, from Zoran Mušič’s painting dominated by earthy colours, to the Italian and European Informalist experiments like the ones by Burri, Tàpies and Dubuffet, to the “cosmic” materials of Enrico Prampolini, Eliseo Mattiacci and Anselm Kiefer. The show presents an important nucleus of works, many on display for the first time, offering a new look at the Giancarlo and Danna Olgiati Collection as a whole, in terms of artistic choices and overall vision.
